The installation and disassembly methods of bearings shall be determined according to the structure, size and matching nature of bearings and bearing components.

Tapered rolling bearings can be directly sleeved on tapered journals. The tightness of its fit can be measured by the reduction of the axial clearance of the bearing. Measure the radial clearance of the bearing before installation. Measure the clearance continuously during installation. Stop installation when the required clearance value is reached. Taper hole bearings are generally installed by screwing in lock nuts, or by heating.

During installation, a very thin layer of lubricating oil must be coated on the mating surface of the withdrawal sleeve to reduce friction and facilitate installation. However, be careful not to apply thick oil, otherwise the disassembly sleeve will lose its self-locking ability. When the compression screw and nut are removed to replace the fixed nut, the disassembly sleeve will loosen and deviate from the set position, resulting in installation errors. In addition, during the working process, the lubricant will gradually be extruded or escaped from the fitting gap, causing the original interference fit of the bearing to become loose.

When the installed bearing is removed and installed on the journal, the nut cannot be screwed to the original position as it is, because the original fit of the bearing system has become loose after a long time of work, which is due to the gradual loosening of the thread, the permanent deformation of the fitting surface due to pressure, and the wear due to friction. In this case, the radial clearance reduction, axial thrust or expansion value must be re measured during installation.

For large bearings, if the hydraulic installation method is adopted, the installation is labor-saving and fast, and the disassembly is more convenient.

For all standard disassembly sleeves and threaded shaft ends, piston hydraulic nuts can also be used to install the bearing on the conical journal, or press the disassembly sleeve into the predetermined position of the cylindrical journal. The composition and working principle of the piston type hydraulic nut are as follows: with the help of the manual oil pump, the pressure oil is fed into the oil cylinder (nut) through the high-pressure hose, the oil cylinder is fixed on the threaded shaft end with its internal thread, the extended end of the piston is pushed on the end face of the bearing inner ring, and the pressure oil drives the piston to push the bearing forward along the conical journal. According to the pressure of the oil pressure gauge in the pipeline, the thrust amount of the bearing can be roughly judged. For experienced bearing installers, trial run the bearing by hand to sense its operation flexibility, and control the interference of the bearing without instrument measurement. It is suitable for the installation of small tapered hole bearings, but it can be implemented only after strict test and assurance, and there should be no negligence.

The installation and disassembly methods of bearings shall be determined according to the structure, size and matching nature of bearings and bearing components. The pressure of installation and disassembly should be directly added to the end face of the tight fitting retaining ring, and the pressure cannot be transmitted through the rolling element, because this will cause indentation on the working surface of the bearing, affect the normal operation of the bearing, and even damage the bearing. The cage, seal ring, dust cover and other parts of the bearing are easy to deform, and the pressure for installing or disassembling the bearing cannot be added to these parts. Press in method is widely used in small bearings. Put the cushion block into the inner ring, press it quietly with a press until the inner ring is in close contact with the shaft shoulder. Padding the outer ring with cushion blocks and installing the inner ring is the cause of indentation and bruise on the raceway, so it is absolutely prohibited. During operation, it is best to apply oil on the mating surface in advance. As a last resort, knock the installation with a hammer, and pad the inner ring with a cushion block. It can only be used in the case of small interference, not in large interference or medium and large bearings. For non-separable bearings such as deep groove ball bearings, if the inner ring and outer ring need to be installed with interference, pad them with cushion blocks, and press the inner ring and outer ring together with screws or oil pressure. The outer ring of the self-aligning ball bearing is easy to tilt. Even if it is not an interference fit, it is best to pad the cushion block for installation. For separable bearings such as cylindrical roller bearings and tapered roller bearings, the inner ring and outer ring can be installed on the shaft and housing respectively. When combining the installed inner ring and outer ring, the key is to stably close them so that the centers of the two do not deviate, and pressing them reluctantly will cause the raceway surface to get stuck.

The inner ring of the bearing is tightly matched with the shaft, and the outer ring is loosely matched with the housing. Press the bearing on the bearing first, and then install the shaft together with the bearing into the housing. When pressing, pad a soft metal assembly sleeve (copper or soft steel pipe) on the end face of the bearing. The inner diameter of the assembly sleeve should be slightly larger than the diameter of the journal, and the outer diameter should be smaller than the flange diameter of the bearing inner diameter to avoid pressing on the cage. When installing a large number of bearings, a handle can be added to the sleeve. When installing the bearing, make the bearing hole coincide with the center line of the shaft. The deflection of the bearing relative to the shaft is not only difficult to install, but also will cause indentation, journal bending, and even fracture of the inner ring of the bearing. Where the press is missing or cannot be used, the bearing can be installed with assembly sleeve and small hammer. The hammering force should be evenly transmitted to the whole circumference of the end face of the bearing ring, so the end face of the assembly sleeve hammered should be made into a ball. The outer ring of the bearing fits tightly with the shell hole, and the inner ring fits loosely with the shaft. The bearing can be pressed into the shell first. At this time, the outer diameter of the assembly sleeve should be slightly smaller than the diameter of the shell hole. The inner ring of the bearing is closely matched with the shaft, and the outer ring is closely matched with the shell hole. The end face of the assembly sleeve should be made into a ring that can compress the end faces of the inner and outer rings of the bearing at the same time, or use a disc and assembly sleeve to transmit the pressure to the inner and outer rings at the same time, and press the bearing into the shaft and the shell. This installation method is especially suitable for the installation of centripetal spherical bearings with automatic centering.

More about GQZ high performance Tapered Roller Bearing

GQZ precious-quality tapered roller bearing with reasonable price for customers all over the world and first-class service and unrivaled products.

Tapered roller bearings feature a cup and cone assembly. The cup is comprised of the outer ring and the cone assembly consists of inner ring, rollers, and cage. This bearing construction accommodates combined loads and provides low friction during operation.

By adjusting one single row tapered roller bearing against a second tapered roller bearing and applying a preload, a rigid bearing application can be achieved.

GQZ tapered roller bearings are also made to Explorer class. GQZ Explorer combines our expertise in bearing design, tribology, metallurgy, lubrication and manufacturing. GQZ Explorer tapered roller bearings are typically used in bearing solutions where there is a need to increase performance, reduce friction or increase power density in applications.
